This week in Squirrels the children made scrolls for our class role play. They used coffee to paint the paper to make it look old. Then they used felt tip pens to draw and write messages. Some children also started to make crowns. It was hard work cutting triangle shapes along the paper strip, but they persevered. Hopefully there will be more crowns to show off next week.
Well done to Hedgehogs for completing their class reward. They had voted to have a movie afternoon, in their pjs, and bring in a cuddly.

Forest School Friday What a fantastic day in the woods we had on Friday! There was plenty of creativity on display as children built dens, wove some brilliant stick people, and made bug hotels for the creatures that share our site. The mud was put to good use too, with some impressive mud tattoos appearing throughout the day! We were also lucky enough to spot some amazing wildlife, including a stag beetle and a beautiful cinnabar moth. And, of course, no Forest School Friday would be complete without plenty of tree climbing, exploring and adventure. Another wonderful day of learning, creativity and discovery in the great outdoors.
Castles, Knights and Dragons The Squirrels have started their new project with great enthusiasm. Children have built their own towers and castles, made dragons for the role play, designed their own flags and used split pins to make a moving knight.
As part of Numeracy Challenge Day Hedgehogs had to work together to create number lines from different amounts of money. They also had to work as teams to crack the code to open the Toy Shop, working out money problems. We also used Beebots to develop our understanding of position and direction.
